Workshops at CoolTan Arts
Are you interested in exploring your creative side and improving your wellbeing in a fun, supportive environment?
At CoolTan Arts you could join a workshop, learn something new, have fun, get out of the house and meet like-minded people.
Who are the workshops for?
Workshops take place weekly in our fully accessible arts centre on Walworth Road, Southwark, London. Workshops are available to adults 18+ with experience of low to moderate mental distress (self-defined). We accept referrals from GPs, Occupational Therapists, CHMTs and Support Workers, as well as self-referrals.
What workshops does CoolTan Arts offer?
We teach a broad range of creative and practical subjects, including visual arts, film making, web design, poetry, cooking, Photoshop, textiles and much much more, there is sure to be something that you would enjoy! Some workshops are ongoing, while others run between 6- 12 weeks. Please see the timetable below or visit the Current Workshops page for the latest listings.
Our workshops are led by professional tutors who are also practising artists. All class sizes are kept small and provide a supportive and structured environment to learn in. One to one tuition is also available on request.
Taking part in a workshop will also give you the chance to get involved CoolTan’s many other activities including visiting galleries, coming to our social events and getting your work exhibited! CoolTan artists’ work have been exhibited at the Tate Modern, the BFI, The Globe Theatre, The Charles Dickens Museum, South London Gallery and many other prestigious venues across London.
How will it help my wellbeing?
CoolTan Arts believe passionately in the therapeutic power of the arts. Making art in a group can be cathartic, fun, exploratory, a form of self-expression and self-growth, and a great way to connect with others.
How much does it cost?
For most workshops there is a charge, which is collected at the end of every session.
The cost depends on whether you have a Personal Budget. We are currently restructuring our costing system, so please contact us for the latest information.
