Events and Exhibition Volunteers

Mondays, 4-6pm: We are looking for volunteers to help run our Events and Exhibitions

CoolTan are looking for volunteers to help with our events and exhibitions programme. This will include coming up with ideas for exhibition themes, event topics and visits to galleries.

You will gain experience of how a mental health arts charity runs their programme, and contribute to the planning and delivery.

The volunteering will include the chance to help with some of the following:

Open Afternoons

Open Afternoons are important for us to showcase the work we do supporting our artists, enabling us to present the services we provide, open the offices to new participants and to give them a sample of our art workshops.

We need help to set-up the gallery and workshop space, help register attendees, serve refreshments, and assist in the workshop and with evaluations afterwards.

Exhibition Preparation

We are looking for volunteers interested in supporting the presentation of the next exhibition in mid-June, and our future exhibitions. We will be updating our catalogue of artwork and preparing frames and materials in preparation for our upcoming exhibitions in support of our artists. If you have experience of this, or a willingness to help us and desire to get involved, drop us a line.

Events Assistance

Assistance in setting up, running and clearing up at events, such as our LGBT History Month evenings of performances, exhibition openings and seasonal parties.

Availability: Mondays, 4 – 6pm for weekly Volunteer Group meetings

Volunteers can also help at some of the events and exhibitions listed above, which mostly take place during the week, and sometimes on evenings and weekends.

What we offer:

CoolTan Arts provide travel expenses, and we will pay up to the cost of a One Day Bus Pass if needed.

How to get involved:

CoolTan particularly welcomes volunteers with disabilities and those with lived experience of mental distress. Please contact us with a bit of information about yourself, by calling the office on 0207 701 2696, or emailing
