CoolTan Arts has been running a textile workshop since 2004. This group learn and create many beautiful and bespoke design by taking their inspiration from diverse and original ideas.

CoolTan Arts is a Walworth-based charity who believe that mental wellbeing is enhanced by the power of creativity. We run by and for people who experience mental distress.

The Textile group meets every Tuesdays from 2-4pm . The group  offers training in textile techniques such as Batik, Shibori, Textile dyeing, Indigo Dyeing, Embroidery,  and basic sewing skills to take their designs from an original idea through to a finished garment.

Collection 2011- ‘Batik Retrospective’

The Batik Retrospective in August 2011 was an exciting exhibition and fashion show at CoolTan Arts. It involved celebrating the achievements of the Batik and Textiles class since it started in 2006 with their first major ‘RetroSpective, coinciding with the 60th Anniversary of the Festival of Britain’.
