Explore, Exercise, Exhale (28 March – 2 April 2017)
CoolTan is holding a walking festival entitled ‘Explore, Exercise, Exhale’ this Spring, to celebrate their walking programme ‘CoolWalks’, based on CoolTan’s ten years experience of developing and running public walks.
We have developed a range of tours, including seven walks about historical figures who lived in South London, such as David Bowie, Mary Wollstonecraft, Charlie Chaplin, Charles Dickens and Michael Caine. Tour guides offer refreshing, fun and lively alternatives to the traditional pedestrian tour by telling the human stories that lie behind the places we live in, visit or inhabit.
Paid walks are interspersed with a number of free walking art workshops designed by CoolTan Arts in collaboration with Bermondsey Artists Group and InspiralLondon. 100% of the ticket prices goes back into CoolWalks, which trains vulnerable adults to become walk guides. You can find out more information or book your place below:
Crowdfund CoolWalks! Help us to become a Social Enterprise by 2018!
We are now raising money to help CoolWalks become self-sustaining Social Enterprise this year. This will allow us to support existing, as well as 40 new volunteers, deliver another year of training, and create six brand new walks for the local community, celebrating South London’s diverse cultural heritage!
