Below are some examples of the many ways that organisations and individuals have supported CoolTan previously:
Lendlease organised a barbeque for CoolTan Arts’ participants to celebrate World Mental Health Day. Volunteers from Lendlease prepared all the food and refreshments for the event and skilfully watched over the BBQ itself! The afternoon was a wonderful chance for everyone at CoolTan to relax and have fun.
Therese Baier and Natasha Hanna, from Accenture gave two days of their time to help prepare our new Cooking Club kitchen space.Therese and Natasha tidied, cleaned, unpacked boxes and wielded mops to prepare the room for our participants to start cooking.
Therese Baier said: – “My overall volunteering experience was excellent, I got an insight into a completely different organisation, I enjoyed hearing the story behind the organisation and doing a physical task for a change!”
Natasha Hanna said: – “I helped clean the community kitchen and batik room, they looked much cleaner and ready for people to use now -success! I enjoyed feeling like we made a difference and getting to know the team. I would volunteer for CoolTan again.”
Mace supported CoolTan by funding a short photography project with our participants. This gave us the opportunity to show our artwork and publicise our work on their hoardings.
For more information on any of the above, please contact CoolTan Arts Development Officer, via email@example.com or call us on 020 7701 2696.
Maudsley Junior Psychiatrist Dr. Alex Langford ran the Northants 35 mile Ultramarathon, raising £565 pounds for CoolTan Arts.
Alex said: – “It’s great to be able to raise money and awareness for a charity like CoolTan. If trotting, stumbling then crawling for 35 miles around Northants is what it takes to do that, then that’s fine with me.
We need more time, money and manpower to help mental health patients get the self advocacy and creative arts therapy they need to stand up for themselves and feel human. It’s vital if we’re ever going to end up with a mental health system that people feel safe in.”
