CoolTan Arts supporter Colin Hughes has kindly created a YouTube video from footage filmed by freelondonevents.co.uk of our recent annual Largactyl Shuffle Midnight Walk which took place on Saturday 20th June 2015 and continued on into the early hours of Sunday 21st to celebrate the solstice sunrise.
The guided walk route began at Tate Modern, and took in many atmospheric nocturnal locations including the Thames Riverbank, Winchester Palace, The Clink Prison and The Crossbones Graveyard where walkers tied ribbons at the gate. Outside St George the Martyr’s Church, participants also got to hear tales of other famous London night strollers, including Charles Dickens, William Blake and Virginia Woolf.
The route then passed underground through the fascinating mosaic-lined subways of Elephant & Castle, which are soon to be closed to the public.
