Out of Hours / Crisis Support
The emergency social services contact number for Southwark Council is 0207 525 5000, when you ring this number the recorded message says it is closed out of hours, but if you wait until the end of the message and then press ‘option 2‘ it will put you through to the emergency contact, open 24 hours.
South London and Maudsley Mental Health Trust also has two 24 hour contact numbers. The information line is available 24 hours a day to point you in the right direction about where to get help in a crisis. The number is 0800 731 2864. The switchboard number, for general enquiries, call redirection and bleep requests operates 24hrs a day on 020 3228 6000.
In an emergency it is possible to visit your local Accident and Emergency department and ask to see the duty psychiatrist.
You can always call your GP out-of-hours service too – your usual GP number will have the details.
