Join CoolTan Arts on this fun filled family day out with treasure hunt and interactive quiz. Discover local history, famous & infamous inhabitants of Southwark, and uncover the history of mental health in the borough. All welcome, bring your children, family and friends.

Midnight Walk 2010

At the entrance of Tate Modern on 19th June 2010 at midnight, walkers-by were surprised by an unusual gathering of a good 60 people. People were meeting for CoolTan Arts Summer Solstice Midnight Largactyl Shuffle, a guided cultural walk from the powerhouse Tate Modern to the home of contemporary psychiatry, the Maudsley Hospital.

CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle

Are you interested in London’s hidden stories? Then CoolTan Arts’ unique guided walks are for you. A cultural arts walk through the Borough of Southwark, from Maudsley Hospital in Denmark Hill to Tate Modern, that uses art, humour, architecture and local history to promote physical and mental well being.

Largactyl ShuffleCoolTan Arts runs a walk every third Saturday of the month, each with a different topic.

Walkers meet at 12noon at the main entrance of Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill, SE5 8AX.

Film screening of ‘The Largactyl Shuffle’

CoolTan Arts and the Institute of Psychiatry (IoP), King’s College London (KCL) host a Film screening of ‘The Largactyl Shuffle’ (named after an anti psychotic drug that has extreme physical side effects), followed by a panel discussion with CoolTan participantsIOP01 and speakers from the IoP.

All welcome. You will be entertained, intrigued and enlightened.
